Important Notes

A person entering the Republic of Korea on the basis of a visa waiver agreement or transit is prohibited from extending the period of sojourn or changing the status of sojourn. Therefore, if one's stay exceeds the period of sojourn that the agreement or Minister of Justice specifies, a visa suiting one's purpose and period of stay should be obtained before arriving in the Republic of Korea.

The time it takes to issue a visa differs by Embassy, and may take a considerable period depending on circumstances. Therefore, applying for a visa in advance is highly recommended, at least 3 weeks before departure.
